END OF YEAR DISCIPLINE GUIDELINES

May 2 through June 8, 2006

As we near the end of the school year, it is very important to emphasize that a positive, safe learning environment must be maintained through the very last day of school. The expectation is for all students to continue following all school rules and life skills. For the last six weeks of school students could lose the privilege of participation in some or all of the end-of-Junior High reward activities based on the following guidelines.

  • SUSPENSIONS
Any student suspended for two or more days during the last six weeks of school will not be able to attend the Marine World Trip and Promotion Dance .Additionally, any student involved in extreme violations (such as fighting, drugs, threats/intimidation, weapons) will also be excluded from the Promotion Ceremony regardless of academic standing.
  • REFERRALS
  • Students with 10 or MORE referrals this school year that receive 2 MORE from this date on will lose the Marine World Trip; 3 MORE referrals from this date on will lose the Marine World Trip and Dance.
  • Students with LESS than 10 referrals this year who receive 3 MORE from this date on will lose the Marine World Trip; 4 MORE referrals from this date on will lose the Marine World Trip and Dance.
(Remember, students can get a referral for skipping detentions, violating dress code, being disrespectful towards faculty and staff, non-dresses for P.E., as well as any other inappropriate classroom and campus behavior. Remember any problem with a substitute teacher results in a referral.
  • REDUCED DAY/INDEPENDENT STUDY
Students who are currently on a reduced day or Independent Study program, or those who are placed on one of these during the last six weeks of school, will not be able to attend the Marine World Trip, Promotion Dance, or the Promotion Ceremony. Students continuing to be disruptive and/or defiant will receive serious consequences including suspension and/or shortened school days.
  • BEHIND ON CREDITS
Students who are deficient too many credits to attend the Promotion Ceremony will not participate in the end of Junior High School reward activities. They will not be able to attend the Marine World Trip, Promotion Dance, or the Promotion Ceremony.
